Opportunity: Manager of Operational Excellence
The Manager of Operational Excellence is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized operating procedures across all yards.  This role ensures that operational processes are clearly defined, consistently followed, and effectively taught through structured training and regular audits.  The Manager of Operational Excellence works collaboratively with Regional Managers to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency without disrupting day-to-day yard management. 

Key responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and maintain SOPs for yards, drivers, inventory, and operational workflows
  • Ensure SOPs are practical, scalable, and aligned with company objectives
  • Regularly review and update procedures based on feedback, production levels, and operational changes

Training and Development
  • Design and implement standardized training programs for the yard and operations staff
  • Conduct in person and onsite training at each location
  • Partner with yard managers to ensure new hires and existing staff are properly trained on procedures
  • Create training material, guides, and reference tools to support ongoing learning
  • Ensure critical institutional knowledge is documented and embedded into training programs to mitigate operational risk, support continuity, and reduce dependency on individual roles or long tenured employees.

Audits & Compliance
  • Perform routine yard audits to assess adherence to SOPs and operational best practices
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies and provide actionable recommendations
  • Track audit findings and work with leadership to ensure corrective actions are completed
  • Report on audit results, trends, and improvement opportunities to the Director of Business Administration

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and throughput
  • Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and Invoicing teams to streamline cross functional processes
  • Support initiatives to reduce errors, rework, and customer issues
  • Promote culture of accountability and continuous improvement
